I was raised Methodist, was introduced to the faith by my Baptist grandmother, became a Presbyterian in 1991, and married a former Lutheran. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University and have 25+ years experience in the field. I was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas, from 1991-1996, and a member (and ordained deacon) at Colonial Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Missouri, from 1996-2014; both Eastminster and Colonial are affiliated with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Currently my family and I worship at Denton Presbyterian Church in Denton, Texas, which is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America. I have taken several classes from Reformed Theological Seminary, and have written extensively on theological matters (much of which can be read at The Layman Online). And most important, I am the husband of Angela, the father of Katie and Lily, and a child (by adoption through the blood of Jesus Christ shed on my behalf) of God.

Loren, Saw your Blog on the differences between ECO and PCA. Just to give you an update. Last month in Houston, ECO had a National Gathering and Synod. The main issue was what to include in our Book of Confessions. We voted to included the Apostle’s Creed, Nicene Creed, Heidelberg Catechism, the 3 Westminster confessions that PCA also includes and also the Barmen Declaration. Our Theological Task Force will be writing our own Brief Statement of Faith. SO we no longer have adopted the entire PC(USA) Book of Confessions
